YouthLine is a great place to learn all the things they don’t teach you
in school! Like:
How do you talk to a friend who is doing drugs?
How do you know if a relationship is controlling and potentially
abusive?
What do you say to someone who’s thinking of killing themselves?
What is child abuse and what can you do as a teen to help someone who’s
being mistreated?
YouthLine holds peer helper trainings every January and July. If you are
between the ages of 15-18, are in the greater Portland metro area, and
are able to commit to at least 3 hours a week for a minimum of 6 months
to answer calls from other teens, consider becoming a peer helper on
YouthLine!
Our next training is being held on the following days (all hours are
required)
Tuesdays, January 16, 23, and 30 from 6-10pm
Thursdays, January 18, 25, and Feb. 1 from 6-10pm
Saturdays, January 20 and 27 from 10am-6pm
